The correlation report shows how important a given question from the Loopon questionnaire is for your guests' willingness to recommend the hotel, along with the satisfaction score for the same question. This report gives an answer to the question: Which areas are the most important areas to improve at the hotel in order to increase the Net Promoter Score the most.
Usage of the correlation report
Use this report to see which areas are crucial in order for your hotel to increase the NPS. A dot on the graph that is situated far to the right (high importance) and in the bottom of the chart (low satisfaction) is an important area to improve in order to raise the NPS.
We recommend using long time intervals (12 months or more) when looking at this report in order to get as statistically reliable data as possible.
An example
In the graph below you can see that the purple triangle represents Cleaning. It is the dot furthest to the left, implying that it is the area that has the lowest correlation or importance. This dot is also one of the top ones of the chart, meaning that it has received a high satisfaction score from the guests (9.1). Improving the cleaning might therefore not be the most important factor to improve in order to raise the NPS.
The green circle in the graph represents Service. It is the point furthest to the right, meaning that is the most important factor for recommendation. Improving the service would have a big impact on the NPS.
How the correlation is calculated
Imagine the two following responses to the questionnaire by two imaginary guests:
Question | Guest A | Guest B |
How likely is it that you would recommend Sea Hotel Kattegat to your friends or colleagues? | 10 (extremely likely) | 0 (extremely unlikely) |
The booking of my room worked well | I totally agree | I totally agree |
The reception staff did a good job | I totally agree | I totally agree |
I am satisfied with the standard of my room | I totally agree |
I strongly disagree |
Clearly there seems to be a correlation between the response to the question regarding room standard and the likeliness to recommend the hotel. Loopon performs this comparison between all questions for all your guests, and gives you the statistical correlation between the likeliness to recommend and every other question.
